Who Am I?

The Instigator

Doan Winkel here.

I am an entrepreneur and an educator. I teach entrepreneurship at Illinois State University and innovate entrepreneurship education through USASBE and initiatives like The Brain Trust. My students create and own their learning experiences – my classroom is an entrepreneurial experiment each and every semester.

I practice entrepreneurship through Legacy Out Loud, The Corny Ideas Challenge, TEDxNormal, internrocket, and many other initiatives.

I have two main goals in life:

1. To fix our broken education system by giving students a voice and control (see my TEDx talk on this here).

2. To motivate younger generations to tackle their dreams and create their own careers.

You will find two things here:

1. My random musings about education and learning, and about entrepreneurship and startups

2. A real-time glimpse of my innovative and risky approach to teaching entrepreneurship to college students

I Would Be Honored If You Followed My Crazy Journey and Shared Your Feedback
